I seem to recall saying about a year or so ago that the modding was done ... yeah, as if.

I've had the itch to try the R1 forks in a Fazer for many years but was always happy with the K-tech modified forks that I put on back in 2003. Well, that's a long time ago, isn't it, so I figure I'm entitled to scratch the itch now.

Hi, just thought I let you know, I brought a set of adjustable levers, see the link below. They only took 8 days to arrive, and fitted straight on without any problems, not bad for £38.00

Apologies if this has been covered already. I searched but didn't find.........and I wouldn't use a slipperblock, I don't fancy the idea. Anyone got an opinion (tongue in cheek) I want to treat my 1000cc Silver Machine to the best.

fork oil grade

Going to change the oil in the front forks this weekend. On the bikes i have owned in the past ,i have used dextran III, atf oil.
Can i use this oil in my 02 fazer, or should i use something else.The manual says 5w, anyone know what weight the atf is

I understand that the pre electronic ignition R1 engine will fit the Fazer 1000.
Has anyone done this? Which engine? Did it just drop straight in and connect up?
What problems were there?

cleaning chain

I need to clean the grime off the rear chain, what's the best cleaning agent to use.
I was thinking something like paraffin, gunk or even petrol, don't want to damage the "0" rings.
I have also read somewhere that WD40 is a good alternative to the chain grease, any body used it in place of chain lube.

lowering the seat height on a fazer 1000

I want to lower the seat height on my fazer 1000, i tried having the the seat cut down but it's still too high for me.I have seen on ebay people selling 2 linkage rods that adjust the height.Will this have any effect on the handling of the bike if i was to drop the height by about 25mm.Any body tried these rods and what did you think of them.Kevin

Sometimes when I start my 02' from cold and very often when I'm blipping the throttle to change down through the gears, I get a squeeking sound..... Only lasts a second or so, not a constant whine or anything. To be honest it sounds exactly like when a fan belt on a car slips....
I found another thread on here somewhere regarding a squeek, and someone seemed to think it was something to do with the EXUP valve, but the thread didn't reach any conclusion......
