I am still here boys !
Me missus still cant make up her mind about the damn hols in september, so fer me, I would be looking more towards the end of the month , to leave time free in the first two weeks, if we do go on a late booking...she wont go away any later than that cos of her work. I concur with PB that IMO the weather in late september is as good as any time.I have twice been to the pyrenees in september and the weather has been Ok, plenty of sun , with some showers mixed in...its a lottery in the alps whatever time you go TBH.You can hav egood weather one day , foul the next. Plan for some rain whatever the time of year IMO.

I thought the ferry to santander would be dearer than that to be honest. I do fancy it on the way back to cut a day off the schedule.Just as I love the trip down through France,I always think the way back is a bit of an anti climax.Plus we would get a chance to try the mountains in that part of northern spain. The chunnel is a great way to get into france cos its so quick. What might be worth considering is to stay over near calais, on the night before so to speak, to give chance for peeps to meet up , and then we would have a flying start in the morning.

Maybe we should try and get a roll call of who would be interested, and dates guys are free ??
