I've never done the Bilbao run but I've done Pompey to France, and had a go at making up the other 2%. image

Sunday was pants, wasn't it! There was a Buell thingy at Box Hill, and I'm ashamed to confess that, having spent most of last Monday cleaning three bikes, I just couldn't be arsed with another wet ride. It was also fecking hooning it down as well, not even the gentle rain we had last weekend. I think there were only 4 days in August that it didn't rain.

However, IIRC, the temperature for July and August month was actually above average. Global warming doesn't mean global sunshine and one of the possible scenarios ahead of us is for the UK to be getting wetter, much wetter. A small shift in the Gulf Stream could also mean that global warming does actually make it much colder in the UK - we are level with Newfoundland and quite a lot of Alaska is south of where you and I are sitting, after all, and those parts aren't exactly known for mild winters. image
