I keep seeing people's threads saying they've removed the AIS.
Are these the silver 'gas pipe' things that get in the way when you're changing the plugs? What is it, what does it do and why do you want to remove it?
Also, has anyone dropped their forks through the yokes?
My bike has the forks sticking out about half an inch above the top yoke. Now, the Fazer isn't the quickest steering track missile out there, so surely this can't harm the handling, or can it? Only I'm no expert in these matters and feel a little bit unconfident chucking mine around. I almost feel as if you have to stop the bars from tucking under. This may be the bike's extra weight and different geometry (I had an FZR600R for years). But I can't help wondering if I should put the forks back to stock. Anyone got an opinion?
