Hi TJ,
This is exactly what I'll be doing during the first couple of weeks in September .. only in reverse .. cos I'm staring from Spain. Plan A: Part One: Ride from Denia on the Med coast to Santander, Ferry to Plymouth, Ride to Scotland via Brixham and Birmingham. Ride back to the Flagstone Chunnel Station, via Bedford and Braintree, Train to France. Plan A: Part Two: Ride South through France over the Pyrenees and down through Spain to get home .. Job Done. Lots of reasons for me doing the trip and doing it in this way. I have considered trying to 'hook up' with a few guys on the way South .. but in all honesty .. I'd just be a pain! I can't ride fast enough to keep up and it would soon get passed a joke, guys having to stop and wait for me at every junction .. or lay-by loo Ask Mike .. he thinks I'm going Park Up at every bend! and I almost do! So far .. I only have 75% of this little trip 'sorted' and set in stone .. I'm still working on part two . Late September is going to be as good as it gets anywhere for a Bike Ride .. probably a mix and match of weather .. lower ferry costs and the main continental holiday crush will be over, much less traffic on all the roads .. however you should still (always) avoid Paris on a bike! in my opinion. More food for thought .. I think TJs idea is worth consideration .. but the days sure are rolling on by guys! Be Safe .. Book Early Trev (Anybody seen Lord Jon of Pitt .. he started all this .. this year )

I'm all 'Booked Up and Paid For' a 'solo' (mostly just me) ride from Denia to Scotland and back in the early part of September. Plan A .. Part One: Wed 3rd. Ride Denia to Santander. Thu 4th. Catch Santander to Plymouth Ferry. Fri 5th Dock in Plymouth. Ride to Brixham. Stop-over with my Hardly Dangerous mate Steve Sat 6th Fit a pair of new Bridgestone tyres, Yam Belly Pan and New Viper Seat. Sun 7th Ride Brixham to Brum, via a rolling coffee call visit at Frank's near Bath. Stop-over in Brum Mon 8th. Bike has early MOT in Brum on Mon 8th (Maybe visit Lord Jon for coffee in Rugby PM) Tue 9th. Ride Brum to Scotland. Two nights stop-over with my Sister Wendy. Thu 11th Ride Scotland to Bedford. Stop-over with Richard & Teresa (CB1000F Biking Mates). Part Two: (Not yet finalised but basically sorted). Fri 12th. Ride to Chelmsford, collect Roy on his 800VFR, ride to Dover/Folkestone cross to France. Sat 13th. Both ride South through France .. towards / into / over Pyrenees .. stop-over ? Sun 14th Roy turns back at some point (It's a Honda ;o) returns to UK solo .. I ride on .. and on. Arrive home ... might be late evening . All done and dusted .. back here in good time to get sorted and meet up with those of you who are on the way down So if you can make it late in September that should fit in nicely for Mike as well Stay Safe Guys Trev (The Polar Bear)
